2. Purpose and Legal Basis of Data Processing
Your personal data will be processed for the purposes of:
- organizing and conducting conferences, workshops, and other academic events organized or co-organized by the Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw (WNE UW),
- handling registration, participation, payments, accounting, and related organizational activities.
Personal data are processed pursuant to Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR, i.e. processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation incumbent on the data controller.
3. Provision of Data
Providing personal data is voluntary, however failure to provide the required data will make it impossible to:
- register for the conference,
- participate in the event,
- submit abstracts, sessions, or other conference-related materials,
- complete payments via the online payment system (including PayPal).
4. Recipients of Data
Access to personal data will be granted only to authorized employees and collaborators of the data controller.
Personal data may also be disclosed to:
- entities authorized to receive data under applicable law,
entities providing services to the controller (e.g. IT support, payment processing, document archiving or destruction), acting on the basis of data processing agreements and ensuring an appropriate level of data protection.
5. Data Retention Period
Personal data will be stored for a period of 5 years from the end of the calendar year in which the data were provided through the registration or payment system, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
6. Rights of the Data Subject
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- access your personal data,
- rectify your personal data,
- request deletion of data (subject to Article 17(3) of the GDPR),
- restrict the processing of your data.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
7. Automated Processing
Your personal data will not be processed in an automated manner and will not be subject to profiling.
8. Legal Basis
Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (GDPR).
